Congress Seeks Alliance with Vijay’s TVK in Tamil Nadu

The Congress party in Tamil Nadu seems to be showing interest in working
with actor Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
According to sources, senior Congress leaders in the state are trying
to convince the party’s top leadership to use Vijay’s growing popularity,
not just in Tamil Nadu but also in nearby regions like Kerala and Puducherry,
to help strengthen the party’s position before the upcoming elections.
Sources said that the Congress believes joining hands with Vijay’s TVK
could help attract young voters and people who admire the actor. They
think his clean image and mass appeal might bring new energy to the party’s
campaign.
At the same time, Congress leaders are said to be asking for a larger number
of seats to contest in Tamil Nadu. The party feels it deserves a bigger
role within the ruling alliance, considering its support base and efforts
in the state.
However, this growing closeness between Congress and TVK has caught the
attention of other parties in the alliance, who are watching the developments closely.
Political observers say that if an understanding between Congress and TVK
is reached, it could reshape political equations in Tamil Nadu ahead of the
elections.
