Congress Supports Pawan Khera, Won’t Back Down: Rahul

Rahul Gandhi, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, said on Monday (April 13, 2026) that his party fully supports Pawan Khera and will not be scared or pressured.

The issue started after the Assam government filed a case in the Supreme Court. It challenged the transit anticipatory bail given to Khera in a case related to allegations involving Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife.

Earlier, on April 10, the Telangana High Court had granted Khera one-week transit anticipatory bail. He had asked for this protection after Assam police visited his home in New Delhi during their investigation but could not find him there.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party stands firmly with Khera and believes that such actions are meant to pressure opposition leaders. He added that the party will continue to speak out and will not be intimidated.

Overall, the situation has become a political issue, with legal proceedings continuing and both sides standing firm on their positions.
