Cricket: James Anderson Hated His Time in The Hundred
James Anderson, England’s leading test cricketer, shared his dislike for his brief participation in The Hundred tournament last year. He mentioned hating every moment of it and plans to be on holiday during this year’s event.
Anderson, 43, who retired from international cricket, was selected by Manchester Originals in 2025 but struggled, taking only two wickets in three games. For the 2026 season, he chose not to participate, focusing instead on county cricket with Lancashire, where he will captain the team.
When asked why he didn’t return to The Hundred, Anderson explained his focus is on staying fit for four-day matches and his role as Lancashire’s captain. He expressed uncertainty about extending his career further due to age and health challenges but remains committed to helping Lancashire achieve promotion to Division One.
The Hundred tournament will run from July 21 to August 16, while the County Championship has already started.
