Cyclone Ditwah Brings Heavy Rain Alerts

The Meteorological Department has warned that Cyclone Ditwah is approaching. Many districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will get heavy rain over the next two days.

Today’s Alerts:

Red Alert (Extremely Heavy Rain): Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu.

Orange Alert (Very Heavy Rain): Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Karaikal, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Trichy, Salem, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai.

Heavy Rain: Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Karur.

Tomorrow’s Forecast:

Very Heavy Rain: Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri.

Heavy Rain: Salem, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Puducherry.

Meteorologists say the cyclone will weaken over the sea but will still cause strong rain and wind along the coast and nearby areas. People are advised to stay alert and follow local safety instructions.
