Dabolim Airport to Remain Open for Civilians

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has confirmed that Dabolim International Airport will continue to function fully for civilian flights. This decision has brought great relief to residents of South Goa and people working in the tourism sector, who were worried about possible changes to flight operations.

The assurance was given during a high-level meeting held in New Delhi between Rajnath Singh and Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. During the meeting, they discussed long-standing concerns about reports that civilian flights might be shifted from Dabolim airport to the newly opened Manohar International Airport at Mopa.

The Defence Minister made it clear that Dabolim airport will remain open and active for civilian use. This means passengers can continue to use the airport as usual, without any reduction in services.

The decision is expected to support tourism in South Goa and help local businesses that depend on steady air connectivity. Residents also welcomed the announcement, as Dabolim airport is closer and more convenient for people living in the southern parts of the state.
