Delhi HC Seeks CBI Reply on Tejashwi Plea
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to respond to a petition filed by RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. He has challenged a trial court order that framed charges against him in the alleged IRCTC scam case.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma issued a notice to the CBI on Tejashwi Yadav’s petition as well as his request for a stay on the trial court proceedings. The judge said the matter will be taken up for further hearing on January 14.
On the same day, the High Court will also hear a similar petition filed by his father and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in the same case.
The case relates to alleged irregularities in appointments made by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Both leaders have denied the charges and are seeking legal relief from the High Court.
