Delhi High Court Orders Removal of Defamatory Posts
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, directed the Congress party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and others to remove social media posts that link BJP national general. The court said the posts must be deleted within 24 hours.
Justice Mini Pushkarna gave the order while hearing a temporary plea in a defamation case filed by Mr. Gautam. He told the court that false and damaging claims about him were being spread online.
The court also barred Congress and AAP from posting or sharing any further content that presents Mr. Gautam as the alleged “VIP” in the case. The judge said such claims, if not proven, can seriously harm a person’s reputation.
The court said this temporary order will remain in force until the next hearing, when the case will be examined in more detail.
