“DK Shivakumar Fuels Karnataka CM Speculation”

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is currently attending the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, responded to fresh questions about whether he might become the Chief Minister next year.

When asked about the possibility, Shivakumar gave a brief but meaningful reply. He said, “I live on hope.”

His comment comes at a time when there is continuous speculation about a possible change in leadership in Karnataka. The Congress-led government in the state has recently completed half of its five-year term, and discussions about who will lead the government in the remaining period have intensified.

Political observers say the halfway point of the government’s term has become the centre of the debate, with rumours suggesting that the party may consider a leadership transition. However, no official announcement has been made so far.

Shivakumar’s statement has once again fuelled political talk about his future role, even as the party leadership remains tight-lipped on the issue.
