DRDO Successfully Tests Next-Generation Akash Missile

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed user evaluation trials of the Next Generation Akash missile system, known as Akash-NG.

In a statement, the Defence Ministry said that during the trials, the missiles successfully hit aerial targets at different distances and heights. This included targets flying at low altitude near the border and at long range and high altitude.

The Akash-NG is a strong air defence system designed to protect against different types of aerial threats. It uses an indigenously developed radio frequency seeker and is powered by a solid rocket motor.
