Drone Recovered Near India-Bangladesh Border in Assam, Investigation Underway

Security forces found a drone near the India-Bangladesh border in Assam and have started an investigation to find out where it came from and why it was there. The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered the drone during a routine patrol near the Dhubri district, which lies close to the international border.

The BSF spotted the drone lying in a field not far from the border fence. They acted quickly and took control of the area to secure the object. After they picked up the drone, they handed it over to local police officials for further checks.

Officials believe someone might have used the drone for smuggling or spying. The drone appears to be a commercially available model, but investigators are checking if it contains any modifications or special equipment. They want to know if it carried any illegal goods or cameras for surveillance.

The BSF and Assam Police are working together on the case. They are also trying to trace the flight path of the drone and find out who operated it. Authorities are checking footage from nearby CCTV cameras and asking local villagers if they saw anything unusual.

This incident has raised concerns about cross-border security. In recent years, smugglers and criminals have used drones more often to carry illegal items like drugs, weapons, or fake currency. The government has already increased surveillance in sensitive areas, but drones can be hard to detect, especially at night or in bad weather.

Officials have now tightened security in the area. They have also asked villagers living near the border to report any strange sounds or flying objects. The BSF may also use anti-drone technology to prevent future incidents.

The investigation is still going on, and authorities expect to release more details after they finish examining the drone and its contents.
