Drunk Man Causes Panic at Govindarajaswamy Temple

A drunk man created panic at the Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple late on Friday night after he managed to get past security and enter the temple premises, officials said.

Vigilance staff noticed the man just in time when he tried to climb over the temple wall. Even before security could stop him, he gained entry into the temple complex. The man then climbed up the gopuram and reached the kalashas at the top, causing fear and concern among temple authorities and devotees.

Seeing the dangerous situation, vigilance personnel immediately alerted the police and the fire and rescue services to avoid any accident or injury. The incident led to tense moments at the temple, as there were concerns about the man’s safety as well as the security of the temple.

Officials said quick action by the vigilance staff helped prevent a serious mishap. Further investigation is being carried out by the police.
