FM Sitharaman to Interact with Students Post Budget
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet around 30 college students from different parts of India after presenting the Union Budget 2026–27 tomorrow. This special interaction is part of an initiative to help young people understand how the government works and how important decisions about the country’s finances are made.
As part of the programme, the students will get a rare opportunity to watch the live presentation of the Union Budget from the Lok Sabha Gallery. This will allow them to see one of the most important Parliamentary events of the year in person. The Union Budget plays a key role in deciding how the government collects money and how it plans to spend it on development, welfare schemes, and national growth.
The selected students come from various academic backgrounds. They represent fields such as commerce, economics, medical education, and vocational courses. They also belong to different States across the country, giving the group a diverse mix of ideas and experiences.
In addition to watching the Budget session, the students will visit the Ministry of Finance located at Kartavya Bhawan-1. During the visit, they will meet senior officials and learn how the Ministry functions. Officials will explain how policies are planned and implemented, and how different departments work together to support the nation’s development.
The initiative aims to give students practical exposure to governance and inspire them to take part in public service and nation-building in the future. It also helps them better understand how government decisions impact the economy and the lives of citizens.
