Fresh Israeli Airstrikes Claim 12 Lives in Gaza

Hospitals in Gaza said that at least 12 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes early on Saturday, January 31, 2026. This is one of the highest numbers of deaths since the October agreement that was meant to reduce the fighting.

Health officials said the attacks took place in both the northern and southern parts of Gaza. In Gaza City, an apartment building was hit, leading to several deaths and injuries. In Khan Younis in the south, a tent sheltering displaced families was also struck.

Doctors at Al-Shifa Hospital and Nasser Hospital said they received the bodies of those who were killed. Many others were injured and taken to hospitals for treatment. Some of the injured are in serious condition.

Residents said the strikes happened before sunrise while many people were still sleeping. Loud explosions caused fear and confusion. Rescue workers quickly arrived to help and searched through the rubble to find survivors.

The new attacks have raised worries that the October deal to reduce violence may not be working. Fighting and airstrikes are still continuing in many areas.

Officials warned that if the violence does not stop, more civilians could die and the humanitarian situation in Gaza could become worse.
