German Chancellor Friedrich Merz Visits Bengaluru
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Bengaluru today as part of his visit to India. He was received at the airport by Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil, along with other senior government officials.
During his visit to the IT city, Chancellor Merz is scheduled to visit the India headquarters of German technology company Bosch. He will also visit the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to learn about India’s research and innovation efforts.
In a post on social media, Minister M.B. Patil said that Chancellor Merz’s visit to Bengaluru will help strengthen ties between Karnataka, India, and Germany. He added that the visit will support a shared vision for growth, innovation, and collaboration, especially in areas such as technology, manufacturing, and research.
Officials said the visit highlights the growing cooperation between India and Germany in advanced technology and industrial development. After completing his scheduled engagements, Chancellor Merz will depart from Bengaluru.
