Hardik Pandya Critiques Mumbai Indians’ Bowling After Loss to Rajasthan Royals

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya has called on his bowlers to step up after their team lost by 27 runs to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a rain-interrupted match in Guwahati. The match, shortened to 11 overs due to bad weather, saw Rajasthan score 150/3 thanks to opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 77.

In reply, Mumbai Indians struggled and managed only 123/9 from their 11 overs. Their top batters, including Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav, failed to perform well.

Hardik Pandya pointed out that the bowlers did not deliver as expected. He emphasized that in T20 cricket, good bowling is crucial, especially in the powerplay overs. He mentioned that if they had executed their deliveries better, they could have stayed in the game.

Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult, among others, struggled to contain the Rajasthan batters. The Royals’ openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, played well and set up a strong foundation for their team’s total.

The loss leaves Mumbai Indians in seventh place with only two points from three matches. Their only win came against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening game. They then lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals.

Mumbai Indians will look to bounce back when they face defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
