Harish Rao Accuses Congress, BJP of Alliance
Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has accused the Congress and the BJP of working together to take control of local bodies in Telangana.
Speaking on Monday, February 16, Harish Rao said that the two parties put aside their political differences to gain power after the recent municipal elections. He claimed that the Congress made secret agreements with the BJP in closely contested municipalities to prevent the BRS from winning mayoral posts.
In his statement, Harish Rao strongly criticised both parties. He said they were ready to compromise their principles for political power. He questioned the Congress, asking whether joining hands with the BJP was the “change” they had promised to the people.
He also mentioned that for the past 12 years, the Congress had called the BRS the BJP’s “B-Team,” while the BJP had called the BRS the Congress’s “B-Team.” He said the current situation makes those earlier accusations seem questionable.
These allegations have increased political tension in Telangana after the municipal elections, with the BRS continuing to criticise both the Congress and the BJP.
