IAS Officer Bilagi Dies in Kalaburagi Crash

IAS officer Mahantesh Bilagi, who was serving as the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Ltd (KSMCL), tragically died in a road accident on Tuesday evening in Kalaburagi district. Two of his relatives also lost their lives in the accident.

Police said that Bilagi and his relatives — Shankar Bilagi and Eranna Bilagi — were travelling by car to attend a family wedding. When the vehicle reached Gounahalli, it reportedly hit a road divider at high speed, causing the car to overturn.

The impact was so severe that all three men died on the spot. Police teams arrived quickly and began further investigation into how the accident took place. The sudden death of the senior IAS officer has shocked the state administration and his colleagues.
