ICC Announces Women’s Player of the Month Nominees for March
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month award for March 2026. Three outstanding players—Melie Kerr from New Zealand, Beth Mooney from Australia, and Ayabonga Khaka from South Africa—are in the running due to their exceptional performances.
Melie Kerr (New Zealand)
Melie Kerr had an incredible month, leading her team with both bat and ball. In four One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and six Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), she took 18 wickets at an impressive average of 6.77. Her best figures were 7/34 against Zimbabwe in the second ODI, a record for New Zealand. In T20Is, she took six wickets and scored 276 runs, including 11 consecutive scores of 30 or more. With the bat, she scored 176 runs in ODIs, hitting an impressive 80 against Zimbabwe and taking five wickets in the same match.
Beth Mooney (Australia)
Beth Mooney was a key player for Australia in March, anchoring their batting efforts across formats. She scored an unbeaten 106 against India, helping her team win the series 3-0. In the T20I series against the West Indies, she scored 107 runs at a strike rate of over 128, including a Player of the Match performance with 79 runs in the first game. She also contributed 65 runs in an ODI win.
Ayabonga Khaka (South Africa)
Ayabonga Khaka excelled with the ball during South Africa’s tour of New Zealand, taking eight wickets in the T20I series at an average of 15.37. Her best bowling figure was 4/27 in the second T20I. In her only ODI, she claimed a career-best 6/56, playing a crucial role in South Africa’s victory.
