IMD Issues Orange Alert for Dense Fog
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for dense to very dense fog in parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar today. The warning means that weather conditions could seriously affect visibility and disrupt road, rail, and air travel.
According to the IMD, foggy conditions are expected to continue for the next two to three days in several other regions as well. These include Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and parts of north-eastern India.
The weather department has also warned of cold wave conditions at isolated places in many states. These include Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Chhattisgarh. The cold wave is expected to continue till tomorrow.
IMD has advised people to be cautious, especially during early morning and late-night hours, as poor visibility and low temperatures could lead to accidents and health issues. Authorities have also been asked to take necessary precautions to manage the impact of fog and cold weather on daily life.
