India to End Naxalism by Month-End

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently announced that India will be free from Naxalism by the end of this month. Speaking at the 57th Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Cuttack, Odisha, Mr. Shah shared his confidence about achieving this goal. He highlighted the government’s efforts to dismantle the Maoists’ plan to create a “Red Corridor” stretching from Tirupati to Pashupatinath. Mr. Shah praised the CISF for its significant role in fighting Naxalism in states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana. He emphasized that the CISF is crucial for protecting India’s industrial infrastructure. Currently, the force secures 70 airports and 361 important installations across the country. The Home Minister also announced new responsibilities for the CISF. The government has decided to hand over the security of all ports to the CISF. Additionally, the force will become the main agency for drone security, with a special team created for this purpose. These steps are part of the government’s plan to modernize security measures and ensure better protection for India’s critical assets. Mr. Shah’s announcement reflects the government’s determination to eliminate Naxalism and strengthen national security. The CISF’s expanded role will play a key part in achieving these goals.
