India-US Trade Deal to Boost Aerospace Exports
The US–India interim trade framework, announced on February 7, 2026, is expected to increase India’s role in supplying aerospace parts to the United States in the coming years.
The agreement is likely to encourage more US aerospace manufacturers to do business with India. Companies like Boeing already have a large number of orders from Indian airlines, including Air India and Akasa, and the trade deal could further strengthen these partnerships.
According to the joint statement, the US will remove certain tariffs on aircraft and aircraft parts imported from India. These tariffs were originally imposed to protect local industries, such as aluminium, steel, and copper manufacturers, in the United States.
India is a major global supplier of aerospace components, and the new trade framework is expected to boost exports, create business opportunities, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Experts say this deal will also help India become an even more important partner in the global aerospace supply chain.
