Israel Strikes Beirut, Hezbollah Tensions Rise

A series of airstrikes hit the southern suburbs of Beirut early on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. This area is known as a stronghold of Hezbollah, and the attack came after a few days of no major strikes in the region.

The Israel Defense Forces said it had captured two members of Hezbollah during operations in southern Lebanon. At the same time, it confirmed that it was carrying out strikes on what it described as Hezbollah-related infrastructure in Beirut.

Before launching the attacks, the Israeli military had warned people living in the southern suburbs to leave the area. This warning was given to reduce the risk to civilians and help them move to safer places.

An Arabic-language spokesperson for the Israeli Army, Ella Waweya, said that the fight against Hezbollah “has only just begun.” This suggests that more military actions could happen in the coming days.

The situation has increased tensions in the region, with concerns that the conflict could become more serious. People living in the affected areas are worried about their safety, and there are fears of further damage and disruption if the fighting continues.
