Karnataka Congress Leaders Hold Private Meeting
A private dinner meeting of senior Karnataka Congress leaders from Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah’s group has created new tension in the party. According
to insiders, the leaders talked about the growing discomfort in the party and
the ongoing fight for power between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief
Minister DK Shivakumar.
The meeting happened after supporters of DK Shivakumar went to Delhi, asking that
he should be made the Chief Minister as the Congress government completed
2.5 years in Karnataka.
Sources said the leaders at the dinner felt that the situation was “not good
for the party.” They agreed that senior leaders should come together and tell
the party high command that there must be a clear decision on whether the Chief
Minister will be changed.
