Karti Says Most Indian Cities Don’t Need Metros

Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram said that most Indian cities do not need Metro
rail systems. He said that Metro projects in smaller cities are “failures,” which
is different from the DMK’s plan to build Metros in Coimbatore and Madurai.

Karti said, “I think not every city needs a Metro. Only Chennai needs one.
The Metros in Indore and Agra are complete failures and cost a lot of money.”
