Kerala Issues New Guidelines to Prevent Bird Flu
The Health Department has issued new rules to stop bird flu (H5N1) from spreading to humans after cases were found in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts.
A meeting of the State Level Rapid Response Team, led by Health Minister Veena George, reviewed the situation and asked officials to increase field-level monitoring.
Veena George said that bird flu has not yet affected humans in Kerala, but strict safety measures are needed. The Health Department has shared special SOPs and technical guidelines and asked officials in affected areas to raise public awareness and follow preventive steps with help from trained One Health Community Volunteers.
