A serious criminal case has emerged from Adoor, where a man named Vinod has been accused of multiple crimes against a 28-year-old woman who lived in his neighborhood.
According to reports, the woman, who was living separately from her husband, often used Vinod’s auto rickshaw for transportation because she knew him as a local driver.
Police say Vinod allegedly took advantage of this trust and is accused of drugging the woman before sexually assaulting her.
Authorities also stated that he allegedly recorded videos of the assault without her consent, making the case even more serious.
In addition to the alleged rape and illegal filming, Vinod is also accused of threatening the woman, possibly to prevent her from reporting the crimes.
The case came to wider attention after formal charges were registered against him and he reportedly fled to avoid arrest.
