KKR Releases Stars Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction

After some big trades on Saturday morning, Kolkata Knight Riders
(KKR) decided to release two major players — Andre Russell and Venkatesh
Iyer — on the IPL 2026 retention deadline day. Punjab Kings, who were
last season’s runners-up, also released three Australian players:
Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Hardie, and Josh Inglis.
KKR will go into the IPL 2026 auction, likely on December 16, with
the biggest budget of ₹64.30 crore. Mumbai Indians will have the
smallest budget of ₹2.75 crore, while Chennai Super Kings will enter
the auction with ₹43.40 crore.
