Lok Sabha Adjourned Amid Opposition Protests

The Lok Sabha was adjourned just minutes after it began its proceedings for the day due to protests by Opposition members. The disruption forced the Speaker to suspend the House, which will meet again at 12 p.m.

The protests were led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He strongly criticised the government over the interim trade agreement signed with the United States. Rahul Gandhi raised questions about the terms of the agreement and its impact on India’s economy, farmers, and small businesses.

As soon as the House assembled, Opposition members started raising slogans and demanding a discussion on the issue. The noise and protests made it difficult for the proceedings to continue smoothly.

During the session, there was also a brief light-hearted exchange between Rahul Gandhi and the Chair, Jagdambika Pal. Despite the tense atmosphere, the moment brought some smiles in the House.

However, the continued protests led to the adjournment of the Lok Sabha shortly after it began. The House is expected to resume its business later in the day.
