Lok Sabha Adjourned Till Noon Amid Protests
The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon on Thursday after protests by opposition members during the Question Hour disrupted the proceedings.
When the House met for the day, several opposition MPs raised slogans and created a disturbance, making it difficult for the session to continue smoothly. Due to the protests, the Speaker had to suspend the proceedings for some time.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed serious concern over the behaviour of the opposition members. He referred to the incidents that took place the previous day, when some members came close to the treasury benches while shouting slogans. He said such actions were not appropriate and went against the dignity and decorum of the House.
Mr Birla reminded all members that maintaining discipline and respect inside Parliament is a shared responsibility. He stressed that Parliament is a place for discussion and debate, and not for disorder or confrontation.
He also warned that if the dignity of the House is not maintained, it becomes very difficult for the Speaker to conduct the proceedings properly. He urged members from all parties to cooperate so that the House can function smoothly and important public issues can be discussed.
Due to the continued disruption, the House was adjourned till 12 noon.
