Maharashtra Signs ₹30 Lakh Crore MoUs at Davos
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the state government has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹30 lakh crore at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos. He said these investments are expected to create around 40 lakh job opportunities across the state.
The Chief Minister explained that a large share of these agreements involves foreign investment. About 83 per cent of the MoUs are linked to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), while another 16 per cent involve partnerships for foreign technology. He also said that companies from 18 different countries have shown interest in investing in Maharashtra.
Mr. Fadnavis pointed out that many investment promises made earlier are already taking shape. He said that about 75 per cent of the investment commitments announced at last year’s World Economic Forum have already started on the ground.
According to him, the fresh investments signed this year will support the development of major growth centres in the state. These include the proposed Third Mumbai project, the Raigad–Pen Growth Centre, and emerging industrial hubs such as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri.
The Chief Minister said the state government is focused on ensuring that these investments turn into real projects, helping boost economic growth and employment across Maharashtra.
