Military Helicopter Crashes into Market in Iran
In Iran, a military helicopter crashed into a fruit and vegetable market in the town of Dorcheh, central Iran, killing four people. Dorcheh is located about 330 kilometres south of the capital, Tehran, in Isfahan province.
Isfahan is known for having a major Iranian air base and a nuclear facility, which was attacked by the United States during the Iran-Israel conflict in June. Iranian state media reported that the helicopter was on a training flight when it crashed.
In addition, two people on the ground at the market were killed, and several others were injured when the helicopter fell. Emergency teams rushed to the scene to help the victims and secure the area.
This crash is the second serious military accident in Iran in less than a week. Earlier, an F-4 fighter jet crashed near the western city of Hamedan, killing one of its pilots. Authorities are investigating both crashes to find out the causes.
Officials said these incidents raise concerns about safety in Iran’s military aviation. Questions have been asked about the training of pilots, the maintenance of aircraft, and whether proper safety measures are being followed.
Experts warn that repeated accidents could affect military readiness and have called for a review of Iran’s aviation safety practices to prevent further tragedies.
