Modi Launches Major Projects in Kerala, Tamil Nadu
Narendra Modi will visit Kerala and Tamil Nadu today to launch and inaugurate several major development projects.
In Kerala, the Prime Minister will attend a programme in Ernakulam this afternoon. During the event, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects worth about ₹10,800 crore. These projects are expected to improve infrastructure and support economic growth in the state. The Prime Minister will also address a public gathering during the programme.
Later in the day, Modi will travel to Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu. There, he will launch projects worth around ₹5,650 crore. These projects focus on key sectors such as petroleum and natural gas infrastructure, rural road connectivity, and highway development. Officials say these initiatives will help improve transportation and strengthen energy infrastructure in the region.
During the event in Tiruchirappalli, the Prime Minister will also flag off five new train services and speak to the public. The new trains aim to improve rail connectivity between different parts of the country.
Among the trains being introduced are two Amrit Bharat Express trains, two regular Express trains, and one passenger train service. The Nagercoil–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express will improve connectivity between southern Tamil Nadu and Telangana, while also serving several districts across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Another service, the Podanur–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express, will strengthen rail connections between southern India and the mineral-rich and industrial regions of eastern India.
Officials say the new railway services and development projects are expected to improve transport, boost trade, and create more opportunities for economic growth in the regions they connect.
