Murmu Stresses Citizens’ Role in Nation Building

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said that building a developed nation needs more than just political stability and a strong economy. She said it also requires healthy, educated, and responsible citizens who actively take part in nation-building.

She was speaking at a nationwide campaign on “Karmayoga for Empowered Bharat” held in New Delhi. In her address, the President stressed that no national goal can be achieved without the active participation of the people. She said that development is a shared responsibility between the government and citizens.

President Murmu explained that for balanced and complete development, progress must go hand in hand with morality and spirituality. She said that while economic growth is important for prosperity, values and ethical behaviour are equally necessary to create a strong society.

The President added that economic growth increases opportunities and improves living standards. At the same time, technological advancement encourages innovation, improves efficiency, and makes the country more competitive at the global level. Together, she said, these factors help lay the foundation of a prosperous and developed nation.

She called upon citizens to follow the spirit of “Karmayoga,” which means performing one’s duties with dedication and honesty. According to her, when individuals carry out their responsibilities sincerely, it contributes to the overall progress of the country.

The event was attended by officials, social workers, and representatives from various organisations who pledged to work towards the vision of an empowered and developed India.
