New Zealand Seal Series Win Over West Indies
Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra gave New Zealand a strong start, helping their
team beat the West Indies by five wickets with only three balls left in the
rain-shortened second one-day international in Napier. With this win, New
Zealand secured the three-match series 2–0 on Wednesday.
Because of the rain, the match was reduced to 34 overs per side. The West Indies
set a target of 248 runs. New Zealand began their chase confidently, thanks to
Conway and Ravindra. Both players hit fast half-centuries and built a powerful
106-run partnership for the first wicket. Their aggressive batting put early
pressure on the West Indies bowlers and made the chase easier for the rest of
the team.
Even though New Zealand lost a few wickets later, the strong start ensured they
stayed ahead in the game. The lower-order batters kept calm and finished the
chase in the final over, completing a solid win and sealing the series.
