Nine Killed, 26 Injured in Turkiye Bus Crash
At least nine people were killed and 26 others were injured after a bus went off the road in Türkiye’s southern Antalya province on Sunday. The bus, carrying 34 passengers, was on its way to a popular coastal tourist area when the accident happened.
Local officials said the bus lost control and overturned. The crash was very serious, badly damaging the vehicle and trapping many passengers inside.
The provincial governor said rescue teams, including police, firefighters, and medical staff, quickly arrived at the scene. They worked for several hours to rescue passengers and provide first aid.
A passenger who survived the crash said that thick fog and speeding may have caused the accident. Poor visibility on the road made driving very dangerous.
Officials said seven of the injured are in critical condition. Some suffered severe injuries and may need amputations. The bus driver was among the people killed.
Authorities have started an investigation to find out exactly what caused the crash. Rescue and recovery efforts are still continuing.
The accident has shocked the region, especially since the bus was traveling to a tourist destination. Local officials expressed their condolences to the families of those who died.
