Petrol, Diesel Prices Rise Slightly in Chennai

Petrol and diesel prices in Chennai have gone up slightly.

On Saturday, one litre of petrol is priced at Rs 100.90, while one litre of diesel costs Rs 92.49 in the city.

Oil companies fix fuel prices every day based on the global crude oil prices and the value of the Indian rupee against the US dollar.

Earlier, on April 7, the government increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per litre each, according to an official order.

After the hike, the excise duty on petrol stands at Rs 13 per litre, while the duty on diesel has increased to Rs 10 per litre.
