PM Modi Launches Major Development Projects Worth ₹33,500 Crore
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart several important development projects worth approximately ₹33,500 crore in New Delhi on Sunday. These projects aim to improve infrastructure and living conditions for residents and government employees. The first set of projects includes the inauguration and foundation-laying for new metro lines in Delhi. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will add two new corridors: the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur corridor, also known as the Pink Line, which is about 12.3 kilometers long, and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park corridor, or the Magenta Line, spanning around 9.9 kilometers. These new metro lines will help reduce traffic congestion and provide better connectivity for millions of commuters in Delhi. In addition to these metro projects worth ₹18,300 crore, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for three more corridors under Phase 5-A of the Delhi Metro. These new routes will cover over 16 kilometers and further expand the city’s efficient public transport system. Apart from the metro projects, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple housing projects worth ₹15,200 crore under the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Redevelopment Plan. These projects are spread across key areas like Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, and Sriniwaspuri. The plan is part of the government’s effort to modernize old residential colonies for government employees and create world-class infrastructure for administrative offices. These initiatives highlight the government’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and providing better living conditions for citizens. The projects will not only boost employment opportunities but also enhance the quality of life in Delhi.
