PM Modi to Inaugurate 72nd National Volleyball Tournament
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 72nd National Volleyball Tournament in Varanasi tomorrow through video conferencing. The tournament will feature over 1,000 players competing across 58 teams representing different states and institutions. The event will continue until January 11.
The tournament is expected to highlight high-level competition, sportsmanship, and talent in Indian volleyball. Organizers say it also reflects the growing focus on improving sports infrastructure and encouraging athletic development in the city.
In addition, hosting the tournament strengthens Varanasi’s reputation as a city capable of organizing major national events. It also aligns with the city’s increasing role in cultural and sporting activities, making it an important hub for sports in India.
