“Preparations Underway for 77th Republic Day Parade”
Preparations are in full swing for the 77th Republic Day Parade, which will be held on Monday at Kartavya Path in the national capital. The parade will display a colourful mix of India’s culture, military strength, and proud history.
Different marching groups from the Armed Forces and tableaux from various states will take part in the parade. These will showcase the country’s diversity, traditions, and achievements.
A full dress rehearsal for the parade was held on Kartavya Path on Sunday, even as it rained. Speaking to the media, Major General Navraj Dhillon, Chief of Staff, Delhi Sub Area, shared details about this year’s special highlights.
He said the Indian Army will present a tableau on Operation Sindoor, highlighting the country’s success and the teamwork between the Army, Navy, and Air Force during the mission.
For the first time, the Army will also show a Battle Array Formation, which will include coordinated movements of tanks, missile systems, drones, and armoured vehicles. This will demonstrate India’s modern defence capabilities.
Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar will lead the parade for the fourth time. Around 6,050 military personnel will participate in the event.
Major General Dhillon added that some units will join the parade for the first time, including the Bhairav Battalion of the Shaktibaan Regiment and the Ladakh Scouts. Special attractions such as kites, Zanskar ponies, and Bactrian camels will also be part of the celebrations for the first time.
The parade is expected to draw large crowds and will be one of the main highlights of the nation’s Republic Day celebrations.
