Putin Invited to Trump’s Global Peace Board
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace”, a new initiative aimed at resolving global conflicts and helping manage governance and reconstruction efforts in Gaza. The Kremlin confirmed the invitation on Monday, January 19, 2026.
The Board of Peace is proposed as a group of countries that would work together to promote peace, stability, and rebuilding in conflict-hit regions, including the Gaza Strip. It is part of President Trump’s broader plan to address long-running international conflicts.
Russia has for many years tried to maintain balanced relations in the Middle East. Moscow has kept diplomatic ties with both Israel and the Palestinians, as well as with other key countries in the region. This approach has allowed Russia to play a role in regional discussions and peace efforts.
The Kremlin has not yet said whether President Putin will accept the invitation. Officials indicated that Russia will study the proposal and consider how participation would fit into its foreign policy goals.
