Record 150 Million Ticket Requests for 2026 World Cup
FIFA has announced that it has received more than 150 million ticket requests for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States. This huge number of requests has already set a new record for World Cup ticket demand, even though the current ticketing phase is only halfway through.
The Random Selection Draw phase for ticket sales began on December 11 and will continue until January 13 next year. Fans from around the world are showing massive interest in attending the tournament, leading to an unprecedented demand for tickets.
The 2026 World Cup will begin on June 11, 2026, and the final match will be played on July 19, 2026. Matches will be held across 16 cities in the three host countries — Canada, Mexico and the United States.
This edition of the World Cup will be the biggest ever, with a record 48 teams taking part. A total of 104 matches will be played during the tournament, making it the largest FIFA World Cup in history.
