Renovated Goschen Library to Open in January
A walk along Arunachalam Street in Chintadripet earlier made it easy to miss the
nearly 100-year-old Goschen Library, which stood quietly in a corner in a worn-out
condition. For many years, the building remained neglected and unnoticed by passersby.
That has now changed. After a recent renovation, the Goschen Library has been
restored and now stands out on the street. Its fresh look and improved facilities
attract not only readers but also people interested in history and heritage.
The renovation has helped preserve the library’s old charm while making it more
welcoming for visitors. Officials say the work was carried out carefully to maintain
its historical value.
The library is expected to open to the public in early January. Residents are happy
that this heritage structure has been given a new lease of life and hope it will
once again become a centre for learning, reading, and community activities.
