Shivraj Chouhan to Attend Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will take part in the ‘Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav–2026’ in Gujarat today. The festival is being held in Hanol village, which is located in the Palitana taluka of Bhavnagar district.
Hanol village has received national recognition for becoming a model of self-reliance and rural development. The transformation of the village has been made possible through the continuous efforts of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, who was born in Hanol. The village has seen improvements in areas such as infrastructure, education, health, sanitation, and livelihood opportunities.
Mr. Chouhan’s visit aims to highlight and promote the ‘Hanol Model’ as an example that can be followed by other villages across India. The model reflects Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of ‘Gram Swaraj’, which focuses on self-sufficient villages, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Adarsh Gram’ initiative, which encourages all-round development of rural areas.
During the event, the minister is expected to interact with villagers and officials and review the development work carried out in the area. The festival is also intended to inspire other regions to adopt sustainable and community-driven development practices.
