Spain, NATO Allies Express Support for Greenland
Spain has strongly expressed its support for Denmark and the people of Greenland, highlighting that respecting national sovereignty is important for global peace.
In a social media post, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that Spain, along with Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom, fully backs Denmark and Greenland.
This statement came after US President Donald Trump suggested buying Greenland. The idea caused concern in Europe, leading several NATO allies to issue a joint statement. They emphasized their support for Denmark and Greenland and stressed the importance of collective security in the Arctic region.
Spain and its allies want to make it clear that territorial integrity and sovereignty must be respected, and any attempts to acquire Greenland by force or purchase would be unacceptable.
