Strong Quake Hits Indonesia Amid Severe Weather

A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the western coast of Sumatra Island in Indonesia today, according to the United States Geological Survey.
is facing this disaster at the same time as a tropical cyclone. Indonesia has
already been dealing with severe weather recently, including floods and landslides
in North Sumatra that killed 28 people.

Rescue teams are working, but their efforts are being slowed down because roads
are damaged and communication lines are not working well.
