Taliban Attack Kills 30 Pakistani Soldiers Along Durand Line Border

A recent clash between Taliban forces and Pakistani soldiers along the Durand Line border resulted in the deaths of 30 Pakistani troops. The fighting took place in Shorabak district, located in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. According to Enayatullah Khwarazmi, a spokesperson for the Taliban defense ministry, Taliban fighters captured a Pakistani military outpost during the conflict. They reportedly destroyed the outpost using explosives after taking control of it. Khwarazmi stated that 30 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the fighting, including 20 who had been sent to reinforce the outpost. He also claimed that Taliban forces captured five additional Pakistani military posts in the Dand Patan area of Paktia province and gained access to two more posts in the Top Sar Khwuch Karam and Anzerki Sar regions. In response to these developments, Afghan authorities reported on March 3 that their forces had carried out retaliatory strikes against Pakistani military bases near the border. These attacks followed recent Pakistan Air Force airstrikes inside Afghanistan. The Afghan defense ministry said its forces targeted several key military locations close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, including areas near Kabul, Khost’s Ali-Sher district, Jalalabad, and Kandahar. According to Afghan officials, their forces have captured multiple Pakistani military posts in Kandahar province, particularly in the Spin Boldak and Shorabak districts. The situation along the Durand Line border remains tense as both sides continue to assert control over key areas.
