Tight Security Arrangements for Telangana ULB Polls
The Telangana Police have made detailed and strong security arrangements for the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections that will be held on February 11. The elections will take place in seven municipal corporations and 116 municipalities across the state.
Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Shivadhar Reddy shared this information while speaking to the media ahead of the polling day. He said the main aim of the police department is to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful, safe, and fair manner.
According to the DGP, police presence has been increased in many areas. Officers have stepped up visible patrolling so that people feel safe and confident while casting their votes. Additional forces have also been deployed in sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations where there may be a higher risk of disturbances.
The police are closely monitoring these areas to prevent any clashes, violence, or illegal activities. Special teams have been formed to keep watch on troublemakers and take quick action if needed.
Officials said security checks will be carried out around polling booths, and strict measures are in place to stop the distribution of money, liquor, or other items that could influence voters. Surveillance through CCTV cameras and regular inspections will also be used to maintain order.
The DGP assured the public that the police are fully prepared and urged citizens to come out and vote without fear. He added that the department is committed to making sure the entire election process remains smooth and incident-free.
With these arrangements, the authorities hope to conduct the local body elections successfully across the state.
