TN Science Centre to Offer Space Station Experience
Children and science lovers visiting the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology
Centre on Gandhi Mandapam Road in Kotturpuram will soon get a chance to feel
what it’s like to be inside the International Space Station (ISS).
The centre is planning to upgrade its space gallery with more interactive and
exciting displays.
They will add visually interactive space models and exhibits. The gallery will
also feature India’s major space missions like Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, and the
upcoming Gaganyaan mission. For this, the centre has asked ISRO for replicas of
these spacecraft.
“We want to make the exhibits more interactive so students can have an immersive
experience. We plan to recreate the space station and even add a dummy rocket
launch activity that students can try,” said K Shanmuga Sundaram, the executive
director (additional charge) of the centre. He added that ISRO has responded
positively and invited them for further discussions.
