TNPDCL Assures Uninterrupted Power Supply This Summer
Officials of the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) have assured city residents that they will not face frequent power cuts or sleepless nights during the coming summer. They say the electricity network has been improved and strengthened to handle higher power demand during the hot months.
Summer usually brings a sharp rise in electricity use as people depend more on fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, and water pumps. This often puts extra pressure on the power supply system and can lead to outages. However, TNPDCL officials said they are confident that the upgraded infrastructure will ensure a steady and reliable power supply.
To prepare for the season, the department has commissioned several new transformers and substations in different parts of the city. These facilities help distribute electricity more efficiently and reduce the load on existing equipment.
Officials also said that underground power cables have been installed in many areas. Underground cables are safer and less likely to be damaged by rain, wind, or falling trees, which helps prevent unexpected disruptions.
In addition, the capacity of power transformers at substations has been increased. This means the system can carry more electricity and meet rising demand without overloading. Maintenance work has also been carried out to fix weak lines and replace old equipment.
According to TNPDCL, these steps will improve voltage stability and reduce the chances of breakdowns or long power cuts. The department has also kept emergency teams ready to quickly attend to any faults.
Residents have welcomed the announcement but hope the promises will be matched by smooth service during peak summer. With temperatures expected to rise, uninterrupted electricity will be important for homes, businesses, and hospitals across the city.
