Trump Claims Venezuela to Send Oil to US
President Donald Trump has said that Venezuela’s temporary government will send a large amount of oil to the United States. He claimed the deal would include between 30 million and 50 million barrels of oil being delivered to the U.S. after a recent American military operation in Caracas that led to the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
Mr. Trump wrote that the oil would be of “high quality” and covered by existing sanctions. He said this oil would be sold at the market price to buyers in the United States.
Mr. Trump also said that the money from selling the oil would be controlled by him as President. He said the revenue would be used in ways that help both the people of Venezuela and the people of the United States.
He added that he has told the U.S. Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, to start the plan right away. Mr. Trump said the oil would be loaded onto storage ships and brought directly to U.S. ports.
This announcement has drawn attention around the world because it follows a significant and unusual event in Venezuelan politics. It raises questions about future oil supply, international relations, and what will happen next with Venezuela’s large oil resources.
